Professional Experience
Prior to starting her real estate career on St. George Island in 1978, Rose worked in the fields of mortgage servicing, title insurance and real estate closings. For thirteen years, she was a top-producing real estate agent on St. George Island. In 1992, Rose joined owner Helen Spohrer at Resort Realty as the company's President, Broker and General Manager. In 1996, the company was accepted as a Prudential Real Estate franchise. In 2009, Prudential Shimmering Sands Realty acquired the company and Rose continues to run the office for new owner Dana Dunnigan. Rose is a graduate of the Prudential Management Academy, and has earned the designation of Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB). Since moving to St. George Island, she has been active in the St. George Island and Apalachicola communities, and the Realtor Association of Franklin and Southern Gulf Counties, for which she was the 1991 and 2002 Association President. She currently serves on the Realtor Association Board of Directors.
Personal
Rose has been married to Bruce Drye since 1976. They moved to St. George Island in 1978 when Bruce was transferred by Florida's Department of Natural Resources as the first ranger at St. George Island State Park. Rose has two cats, Cosmo (Siamese) and Balthazar (Heinz 57).
Hobbies
Rose loves to travel in the United States and abroad. She is volunteer Turtle Nesting Surveyor and supports efforts to prevent the extinction of marine turtles, especially the Loggerhead turtles that nest on St. George Island.
